The exhibition showcases the works of financial members of Lane Cove Art Society (LCAS). Paintings, mixed media, printmaking and drawings are eligible to enter.

The exhibition is held in Gallery Lane Cove, Upper Level, 164 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove NSW 2066. Award winners and works of merit will be announced on opening night. Light refreshments will be served. Bring your friends.

Important dates
  • Entries open: Wednesday, 25 February
  • Entries close: Wednesday, 18 March (at midnight)
  • Delivery of works: works: Saturday, 21 March 10am-5pm (Ground/street level @ Gallery Lane Cove)
  • Exhibition open: Wednesday, 25 March 10am
  • Opening night and awards presentation: Friday, 27 March 6pm-8pm
  • Exhibition closes: Saturday, 11 April at 2.30pm
  • Collection of works: Saturday, 11 April from 2.30pm-6.30pm (Upper gallery level @ Gallery Lane Cove). NB works cannot be collected prior to 2.30pm.
Terms and conditions
How to enter
  • Only current financial members or life members of LCAS can exhibit.
  • Entry forms must be submitted online with payment made through the Lane Cove Art Society bank account by the closing date.
  • Handling fee: $25 per piece.
  • Late entries will not be accepted.
  • Maximum 1 work/entry per member in general categories.
  • The Art Scene Prize for Small Works Category: 1 entry per member.
  • Members are entitled to enter both categories, which means two works in total.
  • All works are eligible for prizes.
  • All details supplied by the artist are final.
Eligibility and presentation of artworks
  • It is preferred that all artworks are available for sale. However, if not for sale please indicate this clearly both in your submission and on the work label.
  • Artworks must be the original work of the artist. Copies of other artist’s works, film, video, sound, performance and installation artwork and photo media; reproductions or copies; paintings on glass, photo-reproductions, computer or artificial intelligence (AI) assisted works and giclee prints are not eligible.
  • General category: combined total area of artwork is limited to 1 square metre per member, including frame.
  • Art Scene Prize for Small Works Category: limited to maximum 30cmx30cm, including frame.
  • Wall hung artworks must be ready to hang with D rings 10cm from the top of the frame, or with synthetic cord if appropriate.
  • Each work must have a label on the back with: category, title, medium, artist’s name and sale price (matching the entry form).
  • Metal frames, unprotected glass, or uncovered projecting screw eyes are unacceptable.
  • Artworks chosen for the exhibition should be professionally presented and ready to hang. Works cannot be wet, damaged, or exceed the stated dimensions and weights.
  • Any artwork deemed unsuitable may be rejected at the discretion of Lane Cove Art Society committee.
Delivery of artworks
  • Members are responsible for organising the delivery and collection of their artworks at their cost.
  • Delivery of artworks is to Gallery Lane Cove and Creative Studios, Lower/ground level, 164 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove NSW 2066. Dates and times are stated in the important dates list. Late deliveries are not accepted.
  • Exhibitors are responsible for their own insurance of artworks. All reasonable care will be taken but no responsibility is accepted for loss or damage while in custody, or for works not collected by the deadline stated above.
Judging
  • All works will be judged. The selection process and the judge(s) decision are final and no refunds will be given for entries not exhibited.
Sale of artworks
  • From sold artworks, Lane Cove Art Society will deduct 25% commission. Artists whose works have been sold will be contacted by Lane Cove Art Society, and payment will be processed within one month from the conclusion of the exhibition once a valid invoice has been provided by the artist and full payment has been received from the buyer.
  • Artists are responsible for their GST obligations (if applicable), hobbyists excepted.
Collection of artworks
  • No collection before closing of the exhibition.
  • Receipt must be produced for collection.
  • All artworks must be collected by the time stated in the important dates list.
  • Works not collected by the deadline above will be charged a late pickup fee of $30 per working day. Uncollected works will be disposed of at the discretion of the Lane Cove Art Society committee after 30 days.
  • The LCAS cannot return paintings by mail.
Marketing and publicity
  • Artists must agree that Lane Cove Art Society may use images of their artwork to promote this and future exhibitions in signage, websites, social media, catalogues and promotional material.
