artXtra! 2022

artXtra! is an exhibition open to all financial members of the LCAS

The exhibition is an insight into the diversity of the Society. Painting, Printmaking & Drawing are included in the exhibition.

All works are eligible for the prestigious Lloyd Rees Prize and the Guy Warren Prize for the two Best in Show.

The names of the winning artists of both the Lloyd Rees Prize and the Guy Warren Prize are inscribed on an Honour Board displayed in the Lane Cove Library.

The venue for the exhibition is Gallery Lane Cove, Upper Level, 164 Longueville Rd.

Dates to remember 2022
  • Closing Date for Entries: Friday 3rd June
  • Delivery of works: Tuesday 14th June. 11am – 2pm
  • Exhibition Open: Thursday 16th June – Saturday 2nd July
  • Opening Night: Thursday 16th June at 6.00pm
  • Venue: Gallery Lane Cove, 164 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove
  • Collection of works: Saturday 2nd July 2.30pm – 5pm

* These prizes are awarded to the most outstanding artworks in the Exhibition. An artist cannot win the Lloyd Rees Prize or the Guy Warren Prize more than once in 5 years.

Entry Conditions 2022
  • Entry Form & Fees:
    • Only financial Members of the Lane Cove Art Society are eligible to exhibit.
    • Number of entries: Maximum 4 works per artist. Each unit of a pair is regarded as a separate entry.
    • Handling fee: $20 per piece.
    • Entry form and payment must be sent in by closing date of entry. No late entries accepted.
    • No changes are permitted after this date.
  • Size Limits:
    • Because of limited hanging space strict size limits apply to all entries. Any entries that exceed the size limits will have to be rejected.
    • For Sections 1-4: Measure the 4 sides of your frame (the perimeter). The perimeter must not exceed 6 lineal metres.
    • Weight 6 kilos
    • LCAS reserves the right to reject paintings based on weight and available space.
    • For Section 5 (small works) The perimeter must not exceed 170 cms.
  • Sales & Insurance
    • All works must be for sale when submitted. GST is the personal responsibility of the artist, and must be included in the Sale Price, if applicable. Commission is 25% on all works sold.
    • Artists must arrange own insurance, if desired. All care, no responsibility taken by the Art Society, Lane Cove Council or Gallery Lane Cove.
  • Not Acceptable
    • No photos or computer assisted works. No copies of other artists works or copies from magazines. Only original work by the artist.
  • Presentation of Artwork
    • Works must be sealed and ready to hang with and picture cord or plastic coated wire, no metal frames, no projections or unprotected glass and no screw eyes on the back. All works other than Section 5 may have D rings 5cms from top of frame. If unclear what a D ring is please consult an art supply shop or go to for information. Entries not meeting these criteria will be rejected and no refund will be given.
  • Labels
    • Each work must have on the back: Section, Title, Medium, Artist’s Name, & Sale Price. This information must be exactly the same as on the Entry Form.
  • Judging
    • All works will be seen by the judge. The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. No refunds are available for works not hung.
  • No artworks may be collected until the close of the exhibition. Please bring receipt when collecting.
  • Works collected after 6:00pm will be charged $20 per day Late Pickup Fee.
  • No responsibility taken for works not collected – the Lane Cove Art Society will dispose of any uncollected paintings.
